In many industrial processes, rubber products / linings have been instrumental in protecting equipment by offering abrasion, corrosion and impact resistant rubber solutions.
The working life of tanks, chutes, pipes and many other fabricated components can be significantly increased by the installation of rubber linings.
Rubber Linings take over where other protective coatings systems cannot offer protection in severe operating conditions.
Rubber hardness ranges from 38 to 70 Durometer “Shore A” in a variety of rubber types and thicknesses. It is manufactured in sheet / roll form to allow it to be cut and configured to any shape that the application may require.
Rubber Linings offer significant cost savings when you consider the replacement cost of the valuable equipment that could be destroyed from abrasion, impact or corrosion losses. The production plant downtime costs far outweigh the initial cost of applying rubber linings to protect the equipment.

KAEFER has extensive experience in rubber lining applications. Our dedicated rubber lining division can modestly boast being the largest applicator of natural and synthetic linings in Australia. Our personnel are multi-skilled by way of abrasive blasting, spray applied protective coatings and rubber lining.
In extreme abrasion cases, ceramic linings are required to provide the ultimate in wear resistance of material handling and processing equipment. Except for diamonds, alumina ceramic tiles are harder than any other natural substance. High alumina ceramic products provide the best protection in abrasive processes.
Urethane linings protect expensive equipment from impact, abrasion, corrosion and from chemical attack. Spray applied Urethanes are similar to rubber linings with the differences being: they are usually applied at lower thicknesses and therefore are generally more economical; they can be moulded/cast or spray applied to usual configurations of components; they form a monolithic film around a substrate with no seams or joins; and they adhere directly to the substrate with no reliance on glues or resins.
Thermal Spray Aluminium (TSA) is a highly specialised process whereby the metal is melted and sprayed onto the surface through specialised equipment. Providing high levels of corrosion protection, TSA is commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
Elastomeric urethanes and polyureas provide exceptional performance in areas of high wear. Perfectly suited to abrasive slurry tankage in mining and mineral processing and in the water and waste water industry, these products provide a unique flexible and abrasion resistant solution where traditional coatings fall short.
